Karşıyaka is a district of İzmir Province in Turkey. It is the southern part of the San Francisco Bay Area in California in the United States, and It is named manufacturer of silicon-chip. Then, it began to be associated with technology (When this name is said, tech came to mind). Because Silicon Valley hosts thousands of high technology companies (Apple, MicroSoft, Google...). If you are interested in technology, you should definitely go there.

İzmir's cusine is slightly different than the usual Turkish cusine because vegetables play a huge role in it. Also boyoz, kumru and gevrek are İzmir's significant foods. İzmir also has a huge impact in Turkey's turism with it's beautiful beaches to spend the summer and amazing historical places to visit such as Konak Square, Asansör (Elevator), Alsancak, Teleferik, Agora and Kadifekale. The İzmir International Fair which is Turkey's oldest tradeshow and which had been held in İzmir for the 83rd time this year indeed makes a massive contribution in country's economy; therefore İzmir is a very important fair center. Moreover, since 1987, beginning in the middle of june and continuing until the middle of july International İzmir Festival is organised annually and many first class performers from all over the world perform there.
